Lucca DOP is a Protected Denomination of Origins of the Province of Lucca in Tuscany, Italy. It only produces extra virgin olive oil in a production area comprising some municipalities in three specifics regions: the plain of Lucca, the Versilla area and Media Velle e Garfagnaga. The main varieties used for its production are: “frantoio" or "frantoiano "or" frantoiana" and "leccino". Sweet and fruity flavour with a spicy and bitter taste, its colour is usually yellow with some green highlights.
