Our Story
Kencryst Ltd is based on the West Coast of Scotland and we developed the first reduced sodium sea salt that can be used in a salt mill/grinder. Our ethos was to develop a reduced sodium sea salt which tasted the same as Sea Salt and which could be freshly ground with the associated "crunch". We also wanted to produce a reduced sodium sea salt with no flowing agents or additives. We now have this unique product which we market under our MILLDOWN brand and which offers 66.7% reduction in sodium compared to salt. We have now developed a great tasting range of reduced sodium seasoning mixes offering on average 80% reduction in sodium compared to salt.
